We have been wondering about a simple logo

Simply a logo that would be easy to place on our upcoming merchandise…

We would like to share with you our first draft we are wondering about because we want to stay in.

However, we are just at the beginning of our journey, which is why we would love to see also your suggestions to help us define our identity and brand. We look forward to your ideas, which you can send to this email address designedby@insimis.cz.

Apple iPhone 16 Pro Experience

The iPhone Phenomenon

It’s autumn 2024, and Apple has once again released its new iPhones, this time with the number 16. While it may not be a revolutionary update, it is a very welcomed evolution that once again drove customers in droves to Apple stores.

We were among them, and it was incredibly difficult to get our hands on one of the first units within the first few days of sales. Even after all these years, the demand is still surprising. Only a few units appear in stores and are quickly sold out, while classified ads are flooded with offers to transfer pre-orders for an extra fee.

Unfortunately, we weren’t among the selected few who had priority access to this freshly released phone. So, we had no choice but to actively hunt for the desired model. This year, the Pro Max versions were quite scarce during the initial sales days, but we eventually got lucky. After a month of use, we’ve become well-acquainted with the phone, and we can now share our thoughts on its pros and cons.

What Do We Enjoy Most About the New iPhone?

First and foremost, it’s the phone’s ability to take unusually high-quality photos and videos for a mobile device. You can edit them directly in iOS and upload them to social media instantly. The efficiency with which you can create quality visual content is truly impressive.

The New Button!

However, this isn’t thanks to the new revolutionary action button, which isn’t as easy to get used to. Using it almost requires a certain talent, and we often found ourselves adjusting camera settings directly on the screen instead. In practice, the button mainly serves as a shutter release and a quick way to launch the camera after taking the phone out of your pocket. We also purchased an official case that extends all the button’s functionality to the case itself. This might pose a challenge for third-party accessory manufacturers, as many simply leave a hole for this button in their cases. Operating the zoom by sliding your finger on the button, or adjusting exposure or depth of field, requires practice. We would be very surprised if this button remains unchanged in the next generation; we believe Apple still has work to do here.

Cameras and Microphones

The iPhone 16 Pro shines with its 4K Dolby Vision recording at 120 FPS and improved audio recording using up to four microphones. We’d like to highlight the 120 FPS capability, as it allows for slow-motion playback, offering more flexibility during editing. Audio has been a limiting factor in previous iPhone generations, but the improvements in the iPhone 16 are noticeable. For owners of the DJI MIC 2, we have good news: the microphones still work great when connected via USB-C, but the need for external microphones has significantly decreased, and they often remain unused. The convenience level is so high that you can easily fine-tune spatial audio recording and adjust the prominence of voices directly in the phone. Background noise reduction and voice enhancement are just a click away.

We find ourselves shooting more videos because a photo simply cannot capture the intensity of the moment. The phone is ready for any situation. With minimal effort, you get consistently high-quality video that looks great even without additional edits, making it appealing to your followers. Therefore, we recommend opting for a larger internal storage capacity if you plan to experiment with ProRes recording unless you intend to record directly to an external drive. For most regular users, the base storage should be more than enough — currently 128 GB for the Pro and 256 GB for the Pro Max.

The new iPhone offers up to 5x optical zoom, which may seem modest to users of competing brands, but the results are consistently good. If you plan to record video at 120 FPS, the maximum optical zoom is limited to 2x. At 60 FPS, however, the full 5x zoom is available. As a tip, we use 60 FPS in low-light conditions, resulting in a brighter and better-looking image.

Interesting, but we found that capturing everyday reality without filters is more pleasing, and we didn’t feel the need to use the different photography styles. However, many artists will likely appreciate having this option for their creative work.

Performance, Battery and Display

The performance, driven by the A18 Pro chip, is almost absurdly powerful.

We’ve started charging the battery overnight to a maximum of 80%, similar to electric cars. Even with heavy usage throughout the day, the battery still lasts until the evening.

The display sizes are 6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max. It’s easy to get used to the larger screen area with even thinner bezels, without any noticeable difference in practicality compared to previous generations. The phone still fits easily into a pocket. The smaller thickness contributes to a lighter and more compact feel.

Price

The price is set quite boldly, but we’ve come to expect that from Apple. In return, you get professional-grade tools that fit right in your pocket.
